Bio

Students

Yen-Chi Cheng*

I am a MS student at Carnegie Mellon University in the Robotics Institute, advised by Professor Shubham Tulsiani My research interests include computer vision and machine learning. My goal is to build systems that understand, infer, and recreate the visual world.

Previously, I am fortunate to work with Hsin-Ying Lee and Sergey Tulyakov at Snap Research, Professor Shang-Hong Lai at Microsoft, Professor Ming-Hsuan Yang at UC Merced, Professors Min Sun and Hwann-Tzong Chen at National Tsing Hua University.

Paritosh Mittal*

I am a MS student in the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University currently advised by Professor Shubham Tulsiani. I have natural affinity toward the domains of Computer Vision and Machine Learning and great confidence in their ability to uplift human society.

Prior to CMU, I worked as a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer with the Advanced Technology Labs in Samsung Research, India.

Project Responsibility
Both students worked together and jointly explored ways of developing the autoregressive shape prior over 3D objects. To realize the task of conditional generation using the designed autoregressive shape prior, Yen-Chi focused on Single-view Reconstruction while Paritosh developed the Language based Generation in parallel.

CMU Advisor

Shubham Tulsiani

I am an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University in the Robotics Institute. I am interested in building perception systems that can infer the spatial and physical structure of the world they observe. Please see these recent talks for an overview.

Prior to joining CMU, I was a Research Scientist at FAIR, Pittsburgh working with Abhinav Gupta. I previously graduated from UC, Berkeley where I was advised by Jitendra Malik, and also frequently collaborated with Alyosha Efros.
