Albert is pursuing his Master’s degree in Computer Vision at Carnegie Mellon University. He previously obtained his Bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Albert has also worked on creating computer vision tools for pathologists and biologists, generating digital twins of the Earth, and creating 3D graphics for flight simulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yizhou is a second-year Ph.D. student at Carnegie Mellon University, co-advised by Dr. Min Xu and Dr. Bhiksha Raj. His research focuses on vision-based world modeling, with a particular interest in building digital twins that accurately represent the appearance, geometry, and dynamics of real-world objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Xu is currently developing computer vision and machine learning methods for the automatic structural analysis of cell systems at molecular resolution and in close-to-native states. In particular, his research focuses on information extraction and modelling of the structures and spatial organizations of macromolecules and their interactions with organelles in single cells captured by cryo-electron tomography 3D images. This emerging research field aims to address fundamental biological questions using a wide range of state-of-the-art computational and mathematical techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
