Previously, he completed his Bachelor of Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and has spent 3 years working in computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics at the medical AI startup Kaliber Labs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ji Zhang, Ph. D.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 35%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>His research interests span SLAM, navigation, planning, and scene understanding. His early work on Lidar Odometry and Mapping (LOAM) and the&nbsp;succeeding work&nbsp;leveraging range, vision, and inertial sensing ignited real-time 3D Lidar SLAM.
