D degrees in Electronic Engineering from La Salle School of Engineering at Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain in 1994, 1996, and 2002, respectively. He has been a research faculty member in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University since 2005. In 2014 he founded FacioMetrics LLC to license technology for facial image analysis (acquired by Facebook in 2016). His research interests are in the fields of Computer Vision and Machine Learning. In particular, applications to human health, augmented reality, virtual reality, and methods that focus on the data (not the model). He received Bsc in Computer Science and Math degree from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hkust.edu.hk\/\">HKUST<\/a>, where he worked with&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.ust.hk\/~cktang\/bio-sketch-review.htm\">Prof. Chi-Keung Tang&nbsp;<\/a>and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=nFhLmFkAAAAJ\">Prof. Yu-Wing Tai<\/a>.  His research interest lies in data-centric computer vision and its applications, including active learning, self-supervised learning, few-shot learning and image\/video perception. He has published several papers in CVPR 2022, ICCV 2021 and BMVC 2021. Besides academia, he has interned in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ailab.bytedance.com\/\">Bytedance AI Lab<\/a> and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.megvii.com\/\">MEGVII<\/a>&nbsp;video detection group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mscvprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2022team4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2022\/04\/IMG_0314.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50\" width=\"205\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mscvprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2022team4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2022\/04\/IMG_0314.jpg 551w, https:\/\/mscvprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2022team4\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2022\/04\/IMG_0314-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 205px) 100vw, 205px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Linghan Xu<\/strong> is a first-year master student in the&nbsp;Robotics Institute&nbsp;at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.cmu.edu\/~ftorre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Fernando De la Torre<\/a>. Previously, He completed his undergraduate degree at Tianjin University, where he worked on action recognition with <a href=\"http:\/\/cic.tju.edu.cn\/info\/1183\/2426.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Yi Zhang<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=gIAOq9YAAAAJ&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Wenbo Li<\/a>. He interned at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlpr.ia.ac.cn\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition<\/a> under the supervision of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsr.ia.ac.cn\/users\/yyang\/main.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Yang Yang<\/a> where he worked on person re-identification. He also worked at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icdai.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deep reinforcement learning Lab<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/yanzzzzz.github.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Yan Zheng<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icdai.org\/jianye.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Jianye Hao<\/a> about opponent modeling.
